Red

A good while ago now, a guy called Andrew Merkelbach (top left) from Australia contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in writing a short film for him.

Andrew had already made a 30 minute film called Curse of the Del Garria for his own creation, The Traveller - a sort of Doctor Who light, travelling around the universe fighting his nemesis but without a TARDIS or Time Lords or Daleks. Andrew sent me a copy of the film, and I thought it was not bad: the main problems with it were with the script, which would be my fault in any sequel, and I'd never written a film before . . .

I said I'd write the next instalment.

The result is a fifty minute film called Red that was edited by fellow Doctor Who author Jonathan Blum (Jon also edited Curse of the Del Garria). The film received its première in Reedings Cinema in 2006, and Andrew is now working on an unrelated zombie movie.
