A Northamptonshire Tale
A Northamptonshire Tale was written as part of my Diploma Course at Manchester University.
I pitched it to the Royal Theatre in Northampton for their Education department, who liked it and promptly bought the rights for a run of performances.
That was in 2000, and as far as I'm aware the performances never happened. I did, however, get paid for it so I managed to console myself.
The original synopsis I sent to the Royal Theatre to see if they were interested was a lot less dull than a normal synopsis would be. It was written as a historical document, reporting on the events of the play. I wrote it like this because I didn't have much confidence in my synopsis-writing skills (and still don't) but was fairly sure I could do a half-decent speech. It seemed to do the trick, and you can read it in the synopsis section.
